Owner and operator of the Fishing vessel “Legend I”, Steve Cullingford, had many problems using a competitor’s antifoul product. His 14m vessel operates out of Gisborne, usually fishing out to the Cape and back.
Fouling was getting so bad after 4-5 months, that at full rev’s the whole boat was physically shaking with the turbulence created underwater.
90% of the antifoul came off with the water blaster so Steve had to go over the hull twice to remove all of the fouling.
Switching to Vivid Antifouling about 2 years ago, Steve is more than happy with the product. No speed loss occurs at all over the 4-5 months that the boat is kept in the water. Once the boat is pulled from the water it only needs one decent sweep with the water blaster to remove any fouling completely, this is mostly slime as there is virtually no hard growth.
Steve believes he has an approximate fuel saving of 5-10% due to the antifoul’s great performance alone. And it only needs to be reapplied once a year.
Ex Ragamuffin (Otago) is a 46 foot aluminium yacht and was coated with 2 coats of Vivid Antifouling at Cammeray Marina N.S.W. After sitting for 2 years at the Cruising Yacht Club Australia, Sydney, she was confined permanently to a mooring and did not have her hull cleaned.
She is in excellent condition.
Tony Mowbray, who is in charge of her refurbishment, says "I find the condition of the hull to be surprisingly good given the lack of use over the last 2 years, I personally recommend the Altex Vivid Antifouling to you!"
"The owner will not use any other antifouling and I can see why. Always in desperate need of an antifoul job before 12 months with other well known brands, the Vivid has saved us a fortune."

I have just finished building this 3.6 metre runabout. All paint used is Altex.
I must say it is the best paint I have ever used for spraying. A year ago I first sprayed the yellow, since then I have also sprayed two cars with marine gloss enamel, they both came out really nice. I have just built a nice tool chest, which is painted in Tokin black.
Keep up the good work with the paint
Yours sincerely,
